Founded by Philadelphia landscape architect Evan McNaught, McNaught Design is a cartography, 3D technology, and drone imagery company dedicated to bringing landscapes to life through precise mapping and stunning aerial visuals. With a deep appreciation for design, nature, and cutting-edge technology, we provide mapping solutions that not only capture the world from above but tell a compelling visual story.
Our mission is to support organizations that connect people with nature, whether that means a 20,000 acre wilderness area or a one acre community park. We specialize in drone aerial mapping, 3D modeling, and graphic visualization, helping parks, conservation groups, planners, designers, and developers better understand, showcase, and manage the spaces they create and protect.
With a strong foundation in landscape architecture, we understand the complexity behind every design, ensuring that our maps and imagery aren’t just visually striking, but also accurate and informative. By merging artistry with technical precision, we help our clients engage new audiences, improve decision-making, and stand out in their field.

About The Founder
Evan McNaught is a landscape architect, artist, and designer with a passion for blending technology, nature, and storytelling. Originally from rural Northeast Pennsylvania, Evan grew up exploring the outdoors, which sparked his lifelong love for conservation, map design, and adventure.
His career has taken him from horticulture work at The Morris Arboretum and Shofuso Japanese Garden to conservation efforts in New Hampshire and Maine. He later became a licensed landscape architect at OLIN in Philadelphia, where he worked on large scale projects that shaped public spaces.
Beyond his design work, Evan is an educator and mentor. He teaches graphic communication and ecology at the University of Pennsylvania and Jefferson University and is also an online educator for Adobe, specializing in Illustrator. His passion for teaching stems from his belief that design should be fun, beautiful, and functional and that anyone can learn to communicate their ideas visually.
When he’s not designing maps or flying drones, you’ll probably find Evan backpacking, snowboarding, fly fishing, or gardening. He’s also trained in outdoor leadership and wilderness medicine through Outward Bound and NOLS, which speaks to his deep connection to the natural world.
With McNaught Design, Evan brings all these experiences together, combining his love for landscapes, mapping, and technology to help people see the world in new ways.
